- Firstly, list the few multiples of X and Y.
- Then, you can mark the common multiples between X and Y.
- Lastly, select the lowest number. That is the least common multiple of X and Y.
Let us take an example mentioned below to understand more about LCM.
Example 1: Find the LCM of 4 and 5.
First few multiples of 4 = 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28 and so on.
First few multiples of 5 = 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and so on.
Least Common Multiple = 20.
