In geometry, we have four different types of basic transformations. These are reflection, rotation, translation, and resizing. A mirror image of a shape is known as a reflection. It is also known as a flip. The Y-coordinates remain the same but the X-coordinate transforms into the opposite sign when a point is reflected across the X-axis. This is known as reflection over Y-axis. Similarly, we also have reflection over the X-axis.
