Grade 6 students should be able to recognize and classify two-dimensional shapes, such as polygons and circles, and understand their properties. They should also be able to find the perimeter and area of these shapes, as well as understand concepts of symmetry and congruence.
Through the study of geometry, students will develop their critical thinking skills and their ability to apply mathematical concepts to real-world problems. With a solid foundation in geometry, students will be well-prepared for the challenges of higher-level mathematics courses.
